PORTABLE RADIOS WORN ON THE HIP

Portable radios using a remote microphone may suffer a subsequent loss of signal strength when worn on the hip.

Please read and observe the following instructions when wearing portable radios on the hip and using a remote microphone:

1. Wear the radio on the right hip. This will prevent the coil cord of the microphone

from crossing the antenna and reducing the range of transmission of the radio.

2. Keep the tip of the antenna at least two inches (2”) from the body. Most radiated

energy is located at the antenna tip. The mass of your body will diminish the range

of radio transmission.
